Star Wars info, stories, comments, and collectibles
Happy New Year, everyone! I’m looking forward to an exciting 2009 and plan to add lots more material to this site, including cool new products just out on the market.
One that I’ve been waiting for for a while is the new Star Wars novel, Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, by Matthew Stover. The storyline picks up after the deaths of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, and the defeat of the Empire forces… except that as we all know, once you win the war the hard work really begins! There are still plenty of bad-ass characters who refuse to give up in the face of defeat, and its up to our heroes Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia etc to stamp these guys out and get the New Republic off and running.
Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor (Star Wars)
The book is a stand-alone novel, which means you can enjoy it even though you haven’t absorbed every little detail of the Star Wars saga in previous novels, movies, comics etc. This makes it a plus in my book – not everyone is a die-hard fan and some folks just like an occasional SW hit without having to remember thousands of years of previous storyline. And for those wanting yet another hit of Luke & Co. doing their thing, it’s a good read. The book was originally scheduled to come out in February 2008, and after two delays finanally emerged at the end of December. You can get it on Amazon, and there are already used copies available!
The bad guy here is Shadowspawn, aka Lord Cronal, aka Blackhole. A former Prophet of the Dark Side and Director of Imperial Intelligence under Palpatine, Shadowspawn is totally steeped in the Dark Side and totally nuts. He’s based on the planet Mindor, and its our heroes’ job to root him out. A good read!
Also just out is some very cool action figures from Hasbro depicting characters from the Crimson Empire novel. Check out the newly-released
Star Wars Exclusive Crimson Empire Crucible Action Figures
featuring 6 characters.
There’s a lot of neat stuff out there – and I’ll be featuring more cool items throughout this year. I got an email announcing a life size Captain Rex Monument from the Clone Wars movie, but when I went to the website it was nowhere to be found. It’s supposed to be released in mid-2009 and retail at a budget-busting $1500+, but we’re talking major collectible here! Stay tuned!

This blog is about the phenomenon called Star Wars, the franchise that just keeps on going and going and going. From its birth in 1977 through today, new generations of fans have jumped on the bandwagon of one of the most spectacular, entertaining, involving, evolving stories ever told. The themes are universal, while the presentation is one of a kind. It's an irresistible combination.
Not only did George Lucas give us some great movies and great memories, but the Star Wars stuff producers kept pace, and continue to turn out fabulous new Star Wars items every year. I'm kind of a collectibles nut - I love stuff, but I don't actually own much of it - who loves to see new ideas, new products, new gadgets and gizmos that related to a much-loved theme. So that's what this blog is about. The world of Star Wars, and its stuff.
This is the kind of blog that is improved with audience participation. Therefore, it's a DOFOLLOW blog, which means that good commenters are rewarded by participating and expanding the scope of the blog. As the blog's page rank grows, you are rewarded in return with "link juice" that boosts your own site's page rank. It's just a little thank-you for making this a better blog.

I’ve just seen the life size Captain Rex Monument in the official Star Wars shop and few other places, and it really looks cool! But the price… The cheapest one I found was ~$1300.
